@@ebifuon6776ascending him is a worse faith for him, sure he can go in the sun but he becomes an afraid and pathetic person who is paranoid. He ends up suffering more from ascending than being weak to the sun, but yeah I wished we could have shielded him from the sun or something in the ending. Maybe the whole gang goes together to help karlach, help Astarion and Lae zel, tho they mostly end up doing it alone(I did hear hell was originally planned soo)

Anyway astarion is not only a vampire but also an elf, elfs in D&D don't need to sleep but goes in a meditation mode, if you look well in long rest astarion is not sleeping

For some reason he apparently sleeps at least occasionally in mine for some reason! I had some weird glitch happen in my game during a long rest where 3 people woke up before everyone else, and the screen helpfully informed me that you can't leave camp while people are still sleeping, and my Durge, Gale, Wyll, and Astarion were all sleeping on bedrolls next to the fire, and all had the "sleep" status condition icon...meanwhile, Shadowheart was seated in front of her tent staring intently at the sleeping boys and Durge...meanwhile, Karlach was doing her happy dance while staring at Lae'zel, and Lae'zel was sharpening her sword while maintaining eye contact with Karlach. Whole thing was incredibly bizarre, and I could only get people who were awake to follow my commands, but eventually everyone else woke up, and everything went back to normal
